Along with Starbucks, McDonalds, airports and hotels, the Avon Free Public Library is a Wi-Fi Hot Spot!  Library patrons can experience free wireless Internet access using their own laptop computers equipped with wireless cards just about anywhere in the building, and even outside on the two benches in front of the main entrance and in the parking lot.

Patrons can access the Internet along with the library’s online catalog and databases.  Printing is not available at this time, but users can save to disk then print out at a public workstation, save information to their own hard drive or e-mail information to themselves.

There are times of the day when all the hard-wired public computers are in use, and the wireless allows an extension of Internet service that would otherwise not be available. Most standard wireless devices will connect automatically to the wireless network, but if you have any questions about changing settings, you may ask for help at the reference desk, or call reference at 673-9712.
