February Art Exhibit: AFPL Strategic Plan Visual Record & Book Cover Art
Sunday, February 3 - Thursday, February 28
This month in our Gallery, we are featuring a large banner depicting a visual record of the Avon Free Public Library’s Strategic Plan. As part of the strategic planning process that the Board of Directors of Avon Free Public Library went through in 2017-18, a visual recording of their work was created. This image reflects Avon Free Public Library’s role in the community and delineates the values that the Library Board and staff keep in mind everyday while working to provide excellent service, engaging programs and relevant collections to all who use the library. The time, talent and materials required to create this visual recording were generously donated by Kimberly Dornisch of Results Visualized (www.resultsvisualized.com). You can access the entire 2018-2022 Strategic Plan, which includes Avon Free Public Library’s mission, vision and values, along with five areas of strategic focus and a community asset map, at https://avonctlibrary.info/about/.
In the rest of the Gallery you will find several colorful installations of Book Cover Art. Each was created by hand, using discarded and donated books. Please be sure to stop by and see if your favorite book is represented!
This exhibit will be on display throughout the month of February.
