This series will be held on Saturdays at 10:15 am, in the computer lab on the first floor of the Avon Library.
SQL (pronounced “ess-que-el”) stands for Structured Query Language. SQL is used to communicate with a database. According to ANSI (American National Standards Institute), it is the standard language for relational database management systems. Classes are free, no registration.
May 4, 2019: Fundamentals of Databases , RDBMS, Keys and intro to SQL
May 11, 2019: Creating, updating and Querying database using SQL
May 18, 2019: Data base joins in SQL
May 25, 2019: Advanced SQL skills: mathematical operations, date operations etc.
Skills needed for this series:
Skills needed – interest in computers, data bases , ability to install software and an appetite for learning Software used in the course – My sql database – open source free software from Oracle. At the end of the course the participant should have a good understanding of SQL.
Meet your instructors:
Love Bajpai is a MBA from Yale University and has been working in the field of data and analytics for last 15 years. He lives in Avon with his wife and daughter. A NE Patriot fan, he believes in the importance of the fabric of community.
Anshuman Prakash lives in Farmington with his wife and daughter. He has a Business Analytics certification from Harvard University. He is a news junkie and loves political debates.
