Parties, the Press, and Political Politeness (Well, Not Really!)
Monday, June 18 at 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Oh, the good old days! When politics was polite and statesmen ran the nation. Don’t believe it for a minute. Partisanship and mean-spirited political battles have always been at the center of the American system. “Factions” and the “baneful weed of party strife” have been tearing at the United States since its inception. This is one of the many events in our “Examining Freedom of the Press” series designed in partnership by the Avon Free Public Library, Avon Historical Society, and Avon Senior Center, with support from Avon High School.
