Katharine Reinhart will focus on the analysis of plant evidence from various sites to learn what Paleoindians ate and where they found it. In today’s world, few of us consider the roles plants play in our daily lives, yet plants have played an integral part in the human experience throughout our existence. Some of the plants discussed in this presentation are plants found commonly in our
modern grocery stores, such as strawberries and blueberries, as well as some most of us may not recognize as edible today, such as water lily and acorns. Join Katharine as she explores the ways in
which Indigenous people have consumed these and other plants as food and medicine for thousands of years.
