This festival, a tradition since Summer 2014, has featured writers from New England and the tri-state area who share their work, inspiration, and ideas with our audience. Throughout the pandemic we have invited Kirstin Harmel, Spencer Quinn, Gail Tsukiyama, Kristy Harvey, and Bill Hayes virtually into our living rooms! Previous summers have included the talents of Liv Constantine, Ann Leary, Matthew Dicks, Kristan Higgins, James Frey, Adriana Trigiani, Archer Mayor, Marilyn Simon Rothstein, B.A. Shapiro, and Andrea Bartz.
In 2026, we will be celebrating the 12th year of our Local Author Festival! This spring we hosted Cozy Con with Kensington Books, and Marie Benedict, Amity Gaige, and Christina Baker Kline were guests of the Friends of the Avon Library.
In 2025 & 2026 we’re welcoming authors with books connected to America’s 250th.
The Friends have hosted Martha Kelly, Lauren Willing, Beatriz Williams, Karen White, Marie Benedict, and Christina Baker Kline for ticketed events since 2023:

We host authors year-round, so join us for these events:
