In 1969, an EB research ship sank in the Atlantic, and even the survivors didn’t know why. On January 6, 1969, a 118′ research vessel named the R/V Sea Surveyor departed Groton, CT, on a testing mission for the US Navy. She never made it to her destination and never returned to port.
