What is block printing?

Block printing refers to the printing technique of pressing and stamping fabric with carved wooden blocks filled with color. “Hand blocked”  or “hand block printing” are other terms that refer to block printing.  Block printing has been used in India since at least the 12th century, and the method is thought to be 2,000 years old.

Join us for an interactive art project: try this technique by printing a design on a tote bag. All supplies will be provided.

For ages 14+ (high school and up).

Please register; this event will take place in groups. As each group arrives, they will watch a short video, start their creation, and then have time to work.
