Thursday, February 1 at 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
“Pronouns, are they really that scary?” (Part of our New Year, New You series)
The goal of this program is to educate and bring awareness regarding the use of pronouns and the importance of using someone’s correct pronouns among the transgender/gender diverse population. This will include explaining how and when to use the “they/them” pronouns as well as neo pronouns. Jillian will explore this topic of these issues based on education, experience in the field and her lived personal experience. The audience will become familiar with both the truths and misconceptions of using pronouns and how this became a political issue.
Some other objectives include:
- Understanding what transgender/gender diverse is
- Language and terminology
- Facing today’s challenges
- Pronouns
- Gender Journeys
- Working with co-workers who do not understand or are not accepting
